Her yıl, senenin en başarılı yapımların ve oyuncularının belirlendiği törende “en iyi ses” ve “en iyi sinematografi” dahil toplamda 6 ödül kazanan Dune geceye damga vurdu. Bu kadar adaylığı bulunan ve ödül alan yapımın yönetmeni Denis Villeneuve geceden ödülsüz ayrıldı.
Gecenin Önüne Geçti!
Geceye damgasını vuran bir başka olay ise Will Smith’in Chris Rock’a attığı tokat oldu. Chris Rock’ın eşi hakkında yaptığı espriye sinirlenen Will Smith, bir hışımla yerinden fırlayarak Chris Rock’a tokat attı.
Olayı ve espriyi anlamayanlar için Jada Pinkett Smith’in alopesi hastalığı bulunuyor ve saçları dökülüyor. Chris Rock ise yaptığı şakada 1997 yılında Demi Moore’un saçlarını kazıtarak oynadığı “G.I Jane” filmine atıfta bulunarak “G.I Jane 2 filmini görmek için sabırsızlanıyorum” diyor.
Kimilerine göre bu olay, son zamanlarda reytingleri yerlerde sürünen törenin reytinglerini yükseltmek için yaptığı kurgusal bir olay. Bu bir teori olsa bile başarılı olmuşa benziyor. Oscar’ın reytingleri geçtiğimiz yıla göre %56 arttı ve 15.4 milyon izleyici sayısına ulaştı.
Kimilerine göre ise videoda görüldüğü üzere, Will Smith başlarda şakaya gülüyor ve eşinin adeta yüzü düşüyor. Bence Will burada kendi hatasını şaka sahibine yansıtıyor ve onu cezalandırıyor. Şiddetin hiçbir türüne destek çıkamayız. Bu tören nasıl espriler ne olaylar gördü. Eğer o sahnede Ricky Gervais olsaydı vay haline. Tokat olayı olmasaydı ve ödül almaya çıktığında hasta bir kadın üzerinden espri yapmanın ne kadar yersiz olduğundan bahsetseydi gecenin kahramanı olabilirdi. Şimdi ise ödülünün ve akademi üyeliğinin alınacağı söylentileri mevcut.
Yılın En İyileri!
Geceye dönecek olursak bu yılın en çok konuşulan yapımlarından “Coda”, törenin en şaşalı ödülü olan “En İyi Film” kategorisinin kazananı oldu. Uyarlama senaryo olan Coda bu senenin sevdiğim yapımlarından biriydi. Oscar alacak bir yapım olarak görmesem bile sonuçtan memnunum.
Daha önce 3 adaylığı bulunan Will Smith, “King Richard” filmi ile “En İyi Erkek Oyuncu” ödülünü kazanarak kariyerindeki ilk ve belki de tek Oscar ödülüne sahip oldu. Eğer ödül geri alınırsa tokat olayı onu yıllardır arzuladığı ödülden mahrum edecek. ”
“En İyi Kadin Oyuncu” ödülü ise “”The Eyes of Tammy Faye” filminin başrollerinden Jessica Chastin‘in oldu. Daha önce 2 adaylığı bulunan başarılı aktirist böylelikle kariyerinde ilk defa Oscar’a uzandı.
“En iyi yönetmen” ödülü, törene 11 adaylık ile katılan “The Power of The Dog‘un yönetmeni Jane Campion‘a verildi. Yeni zellandalı yönetmen, Kathryn Bigelow ve “Chloe Zhao”dan sonra bu ödülü alan üçüncü kadın oldu. Bu sene bir çok ödül töreninde ödülleri süpüren filmin Oscar’ı kazanamaması sonrası ufak bir gönül ama merasimi diyebiliriz.
